Ramón Valadez was born and raised in Tucson, and graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in Electrical Engineering. Ramón is a proud husband to Lucia and father to Fernando and Daniel.

As the current Chair of the Pima County Board of Supervisors, Ramón has been a strong leader on job recruitment and military issues. He has been a senior advisor to Governor Janet Napolitano, a leader on the Regional Transportation Authority Board, and an honorary commander for the 355th EMS Squadron at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base. He teaches CPR in his spare time.
